Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a city of over 65,000 people. It was founded in 1872 and is the largest community between Madison and the Twin Cities. Globe University-Eau Claire is the most recent addition to the higher education options that exist in the region. As a career-focused college, we complement the efforts of other schools.

An old river town remakes itself

Eau Claire began life as a lumber town and was site of many sawmills and log drives in the 19th century. When the trees were gone and the log drive had become a thing of the past, Eau Claire remade itself, first as an industrial town and later as an educational and medical center. It is also the county seat of Eau Claire County.
