Shana Weiss

Education:

  • M.B.A.-Minnesota School of Business
  • M.A.-Strategic Communication, University of Minnesota Twin Cities
  • M.A.-Management, College of St. Scholastica
  • B.A.-English, St. Olaf College
  • B.A.-Communication/Theater, St. Olaf College

“My background includes working in marketing with Globe University/MN School of Business (if you ever check out Globe commercials circa 2002 you will see me and my temperamental puppy advertising the vet tech program) and working at advertising agencies such as Foote & Co., Hot Dish Advertising and Campbell Mithun. Some of the brands I have worked on include H&R Block, Toro, Nature Valley and Betty Crocker. I have taught business, communication, marketing and organizational behavior classes at MSB, Globe University, Cardinal Stritch and UW-River Falls since 2002. My favorite part about working with students is hearing their stories and seeing their interest pique with on-the-job examples. I like implementing my experiences as a traditional and nontraditional student who made life changes as well as hearing student stories of the same vein. And of course I love to bore students with my own stories…”

Education:

  • M.A.-English, UW-Eau Claire
  • B.A.-English, Winona State University

“I grew up in River Falls, where my brother always thought he was tormenting me when he said, ‘Oh, go read a book Claire!’. After graduating from Winona I worked at Thomson West as an editor but decided education was my fate and enrolled in an English M.A. program at UW-Eau Claire…I guess my brother decided my fate.

Fun fact: I still enjoy reading ‘The BFG’ by Roald Dahl.”

Education:

  • B.S.-Business Administration, UW-Stout

“Working as an academic coordinator and in student services here at Globe in addition to Student Success, I am so happy to be part of such a great university. The students, staff and faculty make this a fantastic place to be. A native of Menomonie and current inhabitant, my wife and I are the proud parents of Tucker (pictured here with me).

And yes, if you hear people talking about ‘Tippy’ here, they’re referring to me. I’ll also respond to Timmy.”

Education:

  • M.S., Education in College Student Personnel – Western Illinois University
  • B.S., Business Administration – UW-LaCrosse

“I wanted to teach because I enjoy any chance to interact with students and assist them in reaching their goals. I really appreciate how Globe students have such deep motivation to complete their degrees and the willingness to juggle all the time demands in their life to make that degree happen!

One thing you might not guess about me: I know a surprising amount about the process of producing Harley Davidson motorcycles. I worked in a Harley Davidson factory in college.”

Cheryl Jones

Education:

  • M.S., Continuing Studies – Mankato State University
  • B.S., Psychology/Social Work – Bemidji State University

“My post-secondary experience includes working at Montana State University, Colorado Northwestern Community College and UW-Stout as a career counselor and in transfer student coordinator roles. I also had the opportunity to teach career exploration and college success courses at these institutions, which is what I teach here at Globe. I enjoy working with the students, staff and faculty here because everyone is so enthusiastic and ready to go-go-go!

A few facts that you may not know about me: I am an animal lover (six total at my house) and I also did a lot of rock-climbing when I lived out west.”
