“In addition to teaching at Globe I also work with the Eau Claire Area School District at North High School, where I am an IT technician and staff trainer. My wife, two sons and I live in the Eau Claire area and enjoy what the surrounding area has to offer for indoor and outdoor activities. Boating on Lake Wissota in the summer is our favorite thing to do and watching football and basketball in the winter months makes for a loud house when cheering for our favorite teams.

I really enjoy teaching at Globe – our students make this experience fun and my hope is that we make your experience great and memorable.”

Carlos Cruz, Coordinator, Information Technology

Carlos Cruz

Education:

  • B.S.-Information Technology Management, UW-Stout
  • A.A.S.-Network Specialist, Chippewa Valley Technical College

“In 2000 I moved to the United States without knowing how to speak or write English. I immediately went to school to obtain degrees in Information Technology. Post graduation, I worked with the help desks at CVTC and the City of Eau Claire. I also worked as a computer operator at Luther Hospital and TCTEKS Computers before opening my own computer business in downtown Eau Claire.

In addition to completing my MBA with Globe University, I also work or have worked as a volunteer with the Latino Group of Strum WI (volunteer instructor for computer classes), WHYS community radio (volunteer deejay of “Wisconsin en Espanol”) and CVTC (computer courses volunteer for ESL students).”

Damon Smith

  • M.S., Guidance and Counseling – UW Stout
  • B.S., Technical Education – UW Stout
  • Certifications in CCNA and CCAI

“I currently work within the Eau Claire school district, where I serve as a technology coordinator for several different locations. I am excited to bring my experiences of working with so many students to Globe, and training our IT students for future careers.”

Todd Welch

Education:

  • B.S., Internet Systems Software Technology – Bellevue University
  • A.A.S., Information Technology – Chippewa Valley Technical College

“I am ready to bring my experience as both a business owner and software specialist to Globe. I currently own TCTEKS with IT program coordinator Carlos Cruz, and we are excited to see the growth (hopefully for Globe IT grads in the future!).

In my spare time, I am very interested in politics and civic activities.”
